One hundred push-in spruces 5 to 14 cm tall

A large box with a hundred finished conifers. The heights run from five to fourteen centimeters, so one box yields a forest with a graded outline rather than a level row of identical cones. The small trees are foliated and have a spike on the trunk that is pushed into the base.

When an area is needed, not an individual

Foresting a slope or the background of a layout means needing dozens of trees. Buying them a few at a time is slow, and on top of that the sets differ from one another in color. A hundred from one box solves that: the tone is consistent, the heights varied and there is enough material for the trees to be planted densely, as a forest really grows.

How to go about planting

• Plant the tallest pieces in clumps, the lower ones among them and toward the margins
• Press the spike into a pierced hole; with a hard base add a drop of glue
• Keep the spacing irregular and do not be afraid of gaps left by windfall
• Use more detailed trees in the foreground and leave these for the depth
• Cover the feet of the trunks with scatter so that the small trees do not look stuck in

Who the set is for

The box is aimed at layout builders putting together large forested areas and at modelers of more extensive dioramas. The core of each small tree is an injection-molded plastic armature whose branches are bent and foliated by hand; production takes place in Germany. Even in a bulk set the individual pieces therefore differ slightly in shape.
