A box with two grass mats measuring forty by twenty-four centimeters with a fiber length of three millimeters. Compared with a single-color mat they have colored particles mixed in to imitate flowering herbs, so the surface is not a uniform green.
An evenly green surface is the most common reason a landscape looks flat on a model. A real meadow has shades from yellow to dark green and in summer it is full of small patches of color. A mat with flowers brings that impression straight away, without flowers having to be scattered on by hand. It looks best in smaller areas that are seen close up, that is, by buildings, around lanes and at the margins of fields.
It suits layout builders and diorama modelers who want a flowering area quickly and without hand scattering. The manufacturer is a German company specializing in scenery accessories, and production takes place in Germany. Anyone building a spring or summer scene will appreciate that the color is dispersed and does not form a regular pattern. The scraps suit small areas by fences and doorsteps, where flowering greenery looks most natural.
