HEKI stone ballast, gray, medium 0.5 to 1.0 mm, 200 g is natural aggregate for a ballast bed.
Responsibility details are not available.
Two hundred grams of crushed aggregate from the German maker HEKI with a grain size of five tenths to one millimeter. This is real stone, not colored plastic, so it has an irregular grain shape, sharp edges and fracture faces that sparkle under light just as real ballast does. That is exactly the difference that decides the look on a layout: plastic imitations look matte and far too regular.
Pour the ballast onto laid track, brush it out between the ties and into the slope of the bed, and only then flood it with ballast glue. Do the brushing out thoroughly, as once flooded the material cannot be moved. Medium gray grain is the most general-purpose choice for a main line. Two hundred grams covers a decent stretch of track, so a line can be ballasted in one go and the shade stays the same along its whole length. This is a loose material; do not breathe in the dust and keep it out of the reach of children.
For layout builders who ballast their track and for modelers who want genuine stone instead of a plastic imitation. The manufacturer marks its scenery products as unsuitable for children under fifteen.
