What it is for

Masking is the part of a build that decides the result on a truck, and at the same time it is where time is lost most often. Tape cut by hand never fits the same way twice, and on the frames of a cab every millimeter by which the edge goes astray is visible. Ready-made masks cut for a particular kit shorten this step to a few minutes and the edges come out sharp the first time.

What the set contains

The name gives a masking set for the ZiL-131 model in 1:35 scale, prepared for the kits designated ICM 35515 and 35516. Which surfaces the set covers and how many parts it contains are on the box and in the manufacturer's instructions. The model, paints and an airbrush are not included.

Usage tips

Fit the masks before spraying, onto a clean and degreased surface, and press them down over their whole area and in the corners too. Apply the paint in thin coats and at a right angle; a single strong pass manages to run even under a well-seated mask.

• fit the masks in the order given in the instructions, not all at once
• on rounded frames lead them in sections and press the edge down with a toothpick
• you can seal the edge of the mask with a thin coat of the base color
• take the masks off once the paint has dried, not only once it has cured
• remove the remaining adhesive after taking them off carefully with spirit and only on a dry coat

Who it is for

The set is aimed at builders of present-day and older trucks in 1:35 scale who want the edges of the coat sharp and do not want to cut them from tape. Even a beginner will manage the use. The model, paints and an airbrush are not included, unless stated otherwise.
