A replacement bed tarpaulin for a model of the Soviet GAZ-66 off-road truck in 1:72 scale, intended for the Ace 72182 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The GAZ-66 is a Soviet off-road truck with all-wheel drive and a cab set above the front axle. Military examples carried a tarpaulin on the bed stretched over hoops; according to the load and the weather it was rolled up, tied down or stretched taut. It is exactly the tarpaulin that gives a finished model the silhouette by which the vehicle is recognized from a distance.
This is a separate tarpaulin part for a model in 1:72 scale, intended for the kit from Ace with the kit number 72182. It replaces the part from the kit, so it suits where you want fabric with a natural sag instead of a smooth surface. It need not fit a model of another brand, because the dimensions of the bed differ between kits. Before buying it therefore pays to compare the number of the kit you have under way.
Before working, wash the part in lukewarm soapy water and let it dry, or the paint may not hold. Cut excess material and traces of manufacture off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so that you do not damage the edges. Choose the glue according to the material of the part: glue intended for polystyrene need not act on other materials, and super glue is safer. Before painting it pays to lay down a primer; tarpaulin fabric suits a matte coat and the folds will stand out after a fine highlighting with a lighter tone.
The package contains the tarpaulin part. The kit, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
