HäT 1:72 Napoleonic Wars Russian Infantry Marching is a set of forty marching figures of Russian infantry.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of unpainted plastic figures in 1:72 scale from the brand HäT. The box contains forty figures of Russian infantry of the period of the Napoleonic Wars, all brought together into a marching stance. Against combat poses, a marching set has one practical advantage: the figures can be placed into a continuous column or into a close square without the muskets and arms crossing one another.
In the Napoleonic Wars the Russian infantry rested on musketeer and grenadier regiments supplemented by Jäger light infantry. The soldiers wore a single-breasted coat and a tall shako, a calfskin pack on the back and a bread bag with a canteen over the shoulder. The Russians were known for tenacious defense in close formation and for the ability to hold a formation even under artillery fire, which showed from Austerlitz all the way to the Battle of Borodino.
Soft plastic holds better with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) or epoxy than with ordinary cement for polystyrene. Wash the figures in soapy water before painting and let them dry out. A primer for plastic is necessary, otherwise the paint flakes away when a figure is bent. With a large number of identical figures it pays to paint in layers across the whole batch at once, that is first the coats on all of them, then the equipment and finally the skin and the details.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
