Short S.25 Sunderland Mk.III/V (1:144, Roden) is an injection-molded plastic kit of the British patrol flying boat of the Second World War period.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:144 scale from Roden represents the British flying boat Short S.25 Sunderland in the Mk.III and Mk.V versions. It is a new mold. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Sunderland was a British patrol and antisubmarine flying boat that served over the Atlantic and in other areas during the Second World War. Thanks to its heavy defensive armament German pilots nicknamed it the flying porcupine. It played a significant part in the Battle of the Atlantic in protecting convoys and in the fight against submarines. The Mk.V version received more powerful American engines.
A smaller scale puts the emphasis on clean joints and thin filling. The hull of a flying boat has the shape of a boat, so fit the halves of the hull together carefully. Mask the glazing, apply a primer to the base and spray with an airbrush. Matte shades and subtle weathering suit a naval camouflage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
