1:16 Backets

What the set contains

Small containers in 1:16 scale of the kind that belongs among the accessories of military and utility vehicles. The 1:16 scale is large enough that every detail and every piece of carelessness shows on such accessories, and that is exactly why a separate accessory is worth having. The manufacturer describes the exact execution and the number of pieces with the package.

Where it fits

The containers are placed on fenders, on cargo beds and platforms of vehicles, in a workshop corner, by a well or simply in the corner of a diorama. They also work as a prop that gives a scene a sense of size and of action: a container standing next to a figure instantly reveals how big the whole scene is. Accessories of this kind suit building a rear area where empty surfaces would otherwise remain.

Building and painting tips

Cut off excess material and traces of manufacture with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; if they are not polystyrene, cyanoacrylate will join them. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. They are easier to paint separately, before you attach them to the model. A metallic look is helped by a dark base, over it a thin layer of covering paint and finally a dry brush along the edges. Suggest the dented places with the tip of a brush or with a sponge, add a darker shadow inside the container and dust the bottom with a pigment in the color of the surrounding soil, so that the accessory settles into the scene.
