1:16 stands up to close inspection, and the choice reflects it. 1:16 model jerrycans and fuel drums cover the 1938 Wehrmacht pattern, British two- and four-gallon tins, modern American cans and water tanks, 200-litre drums in clean and crushed condition, oilers with their tools, buckets and drinking water bottles. At this size the seam in the sheet metal and the relief of the pressing are visible, so a container can carry a vignette by itself.
The range matches 1:16 and 1:18 military model kits for size, and a can in the hand of a 1:16 figure creates a refuelling scene instantly. Smaller versions of the same patterns are in model jerrycans, drums and containers. A damaged drum also works alone: add a plinth and the vignette is finished.
