Responsibility details are not available.
A barrel with a volume of 200 liters in 1:16 scale, rendered as a damaged piece, that is, with a dent and deformations. That is precisely what distinguishes it from a smooth new barrel: a scuffed and crumpled container looks used and gives a scene believability faster than any further new object. The 200-liter steel barrel is at the same time the most ordinary container for fuel and oils and you will find it in photographs from the middle of the last century practically everywhere.
Into dioramas and display-case scenes in 1:16 scale, that is, where large figures and hardware are to be seen. In this scale every detail of the surface stands out, so a damaged barrel is a rewarding object for practicing corrosion and scuffed paint. It can be placed on the bed of a vehicle, by a workshop wall, on a dump by a road or simply tipped over loose on the ground.
First wash and degrease the surface, otherwise the paint holds badly. A proven procedure is to spray a rusty base, to apply a covering color over it and then to break that up around the scuffs and the edges, so that corrosion shows through. Rusty traces run down the walls, and around the bung and the lower rim darkening and greasy stains are fitting. At the close the barrel is suited by fine dust in the places where dirt holds.
For modelers who are building a scene in a large scale and looking for an accessory on which a weathered surface can be shown. The paints, the glue, the figures and the hardware are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
