An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Ford LTL 9000 long-haul tractor from the maker AMT in the large 1:24 scale. The set is one of the more demanding projects for advanced modelers: it contains a quantity of chrome parts, soft rubber tires and water-slide decals. The kit offers a tilting hood with a well-detailed engine, a steerable front axle and a detailed cab interior with a sleeper section.
The Ford LTL 9000 was a conventional long-haul tractor, that is a version with the engine placed ahead of the cab. These machines were used for long-distance freight haulage in the USA and Canada and made their name through their rugged construction and their prominent front grille. The versions with a sleeper cab served drivers on long routes.
Join the plastic parts with liquid modeling cement and glue the chrome parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Spray the body with a primer and then with an airbrush, finish the gloss surfaces with varnish and use a gloss coat under the decals. The engine, the running gear and the interior come alive with extra paint and a light accenting of the edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
