1:32 AGM-130C missiles (BLU-109 warhead) (2 pcs) is a pair of guided missiles with a penetrating warhead, complemented by a guidance pod.
Responsibility details are not available.
While the more common rendition of the same missile carries a standard high-explosive fragmentation warhead, the designation C means the hard penetrating BLU-109 charge intended against underground and reinforced concrete structures. Reskit supplies two such missiles together with one AN/AXQ-14 pod in a resin print for 1:32 scale.
The BLU-109 has a thick-walled steel body with a sharp nose, which passes through a layer of concrete before the delayed fuze goes off. This kind of warhead reached the arsenal in the 1980s precisely because of command bunkers and shelters for equipment. Combined with a rocket motor and data link guidance, a weapon came about that made it possible to strike such a target from a great distance and at the same time to watch exactly where it fell. The carriers were above all F-15E machines, and additionally the F-111F and F-16I.
The sharp nose of the warhead is the most vulnerable part when handled, so cut it free last. On a long body it pays to check that all the parts are in line before the joint dries. Choose a light finish with the nose more clearly set apart; penetrating warheads tend to carry conspicuous bands. Unify the pod with the rest of the fit in the same shade and dirty it slightly where it attaches to the pylon.
The set is supplied without a carrying machine, without paints and without glue.
