This is a resin detail set in 1:32 scale, not an aircraft kit. The set contains precisely cast wheels for models of the British BAC/EE Lightning supersonic fighter in its early version. A resin casting captures the fine profile of the tread and the structure of the hubs markedly more faithfully than production plastic parts.
The Lightning was a British Cold War interceptor with an unusual layout of two engines one above the other and a steep rate of climb. The landing gear wheels are among the clearly visible details that give away the quality of a build at close range, which is why a more accurate replacement pays off there.
First wash the parts free of mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off carefully and bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Sand resin while protecting your airways. The tires suit a flat dark gray, and the hubs a color according to the particular machine; a flat spot where the wheel meets the ground gives a model a realistic sense of weight.
