A set of colored 3D decals from Kelik for the exterior avionics features of the LTV A-7 D/E Corsair II attack aircraft in 1:32 scale. Unlike the interior sets, this accessory is aimed at the outside: pre-printed films, built up in layers, capture the exterior avionics panels, covers and access areas in high relief. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory for a plastic kit that gives the airframe surface depth and detail without photo-etched parts or hand painting.
The Corsair II was a subsonic attack aircraft with a long range and a heavy weapons load, used in the land-based D version and the carrier-based E version. The exterior avionics covers and panels are among the characteristic details of the airframe, and in a large-scale build they add a great deal to the overall impression. This set is shared by both the D and the E version.
Degrease the airframe surfaces and clear them of dust before you apply the decals. Let the decal soften in water, transfer it into place and press it into the relief with a softener. It is worth sealing the finished areas with a suitable clear coat for the degree of gloss you want, and tuning them with a light wash if needed.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right. The aircraft kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
