Reskit specializes in resin and 3D printed accessories for modelers who want to go further than the contents of the box. This part in 1:32 scale represents an underwing fuel tank with the designation RPL 522, of 1300 liters, of the kind carried by the French Mirage 2000 fighter. It is an accessory that is fitted onto a finished aircraft model, not a model in its own right. Printing on a 3D printer gives the part crisp edges, fine surface detail and a clean shape with no parting line.
The Mirage 2000 is a single-engined supersonic fighter with a delta wing, taken into service in the 1980s. Underwing fuel tanks are part of its ordinary operational configuration, so a model with stores looks more convincing than an aircraft in clean configuration. The RPL 522 designation is tied precisely to the type of tank of 1300 liters given in the name of the set.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with detergent so that the remains of the mold release agent and of print resin come off the surface. Cut the supports away with a fine saw or a knife and level the mark they leave with a file; sanding is better done wet and with your airways protected. Use cyanoacrylate glue for gluing, preferably a gel, which leaves time to set the part exactly against the pylon. Apply a thin coat of primer before painting, as paint holds well on resin over it.
