Photo-etched set for a model of the Hawker Tempest Mk. VI fighter in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Hawker Tempest is a British single-seat fighter from the end of the Second World War, recognizable by its thin-section wing and massive fuselage. The Mk. VI was the last production form with the Napier Sabre piston engine, whose cylinders are arranged in an H, and it was adapted for service in hot climates. It only entered service after the war.
Photo-etched parts in 1:32 scale for a model of the Tempest Mk. VI. Etching makes it possible to produce elements from thin sheet metal, a thickness that injection-molded plastic cannot reach, which is why it replaces parts that look oversized on the model. The extent of the set, where the parts belong and whether any elements come pre-colored are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the parts free with a sharp blade on a hard surface rather than with scissors, so that they do not bend. Make the folds in a photo-etch bending tool or along a metal ruler, and press along the whole length of the fold at once. The metal takes only a few bends before it cracks, so plan the shape in advance. Glue with cyanoacrylate applied on the tip of a pin, because plastic cement has no effect on metal. Degrease unpainted parts before spraying and use a primer made for metal. In 1:32 scale the cockpit interior is clearly visible through the glazing, which is exactly where the work with thin parts pays off.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
