Turned metal (brass) barrels for the American Bradley infantry fighting vehicle in 1:35 scale from Aber. The set holds the ribbed barrel of the 25mm M242 Bushmaster automatic cannon and the barrel of the 7.62mm M240 machine gun; the rendering matches late M2A3 Bradley machines, or the LAV-25 armored vehicle. It is not a kit of the vehicle but a detail accessory that replaces the plastic barrels from the box.
A turned brass barrel is perfectly straight, has an accurate profile and sharp detail of a kind injection-molded plastic cannot manage. On the ribbed Bushmaster barrel the external ribbing is faithfully rendered. The model thereby gains markedly more realistic armament.
Degrease the metal parts, roughen the mating faces if needed and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or with a two-part adhesive. Apply a primer suitable for metal before painting, so that the paint holds well.
This is a detail accessory for experienced modelers, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
