Royal Model carries vegetation for 1:35 scale in several variants and this item belongs to the second of them. It too takes the form of a photo-etched metal fret. According to the manufacturer's illustration the selection aims above all at densely leaved climbing branches, that is at ivy growing over doorframes and at growth spreading between stones.
Nothing in nature grows in a regular grid. Along a path taller tufts alternate with trampled ones, the growth by a wall is denser than in the middle of a yard, and only the toughest weeds hold on around worn ruts. Anyone who imitates this gets a scene in which the viewer does not think about the material. Combining several different selections is therefore more effective than spreading one of them evenly over the whole area.
With climbing plants the direction of growth decides: they run from the bottom upward, cling to the joints and do not end halfway up a wall without support. First bend the metal pieces roughly into a curve, offer them up dry and only then secure them with a drop of cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Metal needs a primer before painting. Leave the cooler tone for the shade and the warmer one for the lit side; a light final dusting coat in a dust shade unifies the whole area and the plants stop standing out from the model as a foreign element.
You will not find paints, glue or terrain material in the package.
