1:35 Canvas Cover Sd. Kfz. 250 is a resin folded canvas cover for a model of the light German half-track. The casting captures a cloth cover packed up above the crew compartment.

The resin casting imitates cloth with its seams, folds and natural sag. It is set onto the hull of a plastic model and turns a bare open tub into a vehicle ready for a march or for bad weather. The shape is finished, so the extra work consists mainly in seating it accurately.
The Sd.Kfz. 250 was a light armored half-track built on the shortened chassis of the Demag D 7 tractor. It was produced from 1941 and served mainly as a reconnaissance, signals and command vehicle. In its variants it carried machine guns, a cannon or a radio set. Compared with its bigger brother it was more agile and got to places heavier vehicles could not reach. From 1943 it was built with a simplified hull designated neu. It served to the end of the war on all fronts and reconnaissance detachments in particular took to it.
Paint the cover separately from the hull, otherwise the shades will merge and the cloth will lose the impression of a different material. A lighter base, a dark filter into the folds and drybrushing on the edges of the seams have proved themselves. Rinse the casting beforehand and degrease it, otherwise the finish will not hold on the smooth surface. Accentuate the loops and rims with a thin line a tone darker; a small shadow on them does more than the best paint on a surface.
The castings are supplied in a raw state, without a finish.
