The 1:35 Driver knows German tanks accessory from Royal Model relates to the small guide elements on German armored vehicles that served the driver.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Italian brand Royal Model belongs to its extensive line of small accessories for German armored vehicles of the Second World War in 1:35 scale. According to the name it relates to guide rods, that is to the small equipment connected with the driver's work on the machine.
The driver of a tank sits low, sees through a slit and cannot see the outline of his own machine ahead of him at all. The fenders therefore often carried folding or removable rods, from which the width of the vehicle could be judged when passing through a narrow place, over a bridge or in the rut of a field track. In poor visibility their ends were painted light so that they could be seen from the driver's position. It is a typical small thing that kits lack, because it cannot be made thin enough in plastic.
Before fitting it, check on a photograph of your particular machine where the element belongs and in what position you want it; the folded and the raised variants look completely different. Strengthen the joint with a drop of a thick compound from underneath, so that the thin element survives handling of the finished model.
The item comes without a finish. Paints and fixing compounds have to be obtained separately.
