A figure of a French tanker of the Second World War period in 1:35 scale. An accessory to models of equipment and to dioramas in the same scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The figure captures a French tanker of the Second World War period. The crews of combat vehicles differed from the infantry in their equipment: in the tight space of a vehicle they needed head protection and clothing that would not catch on the internal fittings. It is exactly that difference that is most valuable about the figure, because it tells a scene at first glance that the figure belongs with the vehicle and is not a passing soldier.
1:35 is the most widespread scale for models of armor, so the figure fits the vast majority of kits of tanks and vehicles in this scale. The figure gives a scene both scale and action: it is only beside a person that the real size of a vehicle shows, and the viewer gains a point from which to start reading the picture. Where exactly to place the figure you will see from its pose, whether that is an open hatch or a place beside the vehicle.
Before painting, free the surface of dust and of grease from your fingers. Paint in thin layers and avoid both pure black and pure white; both shadow and highlight look more convincing as a darker and a lighter shade of the base tone. Leave the face and the hands until last, when the tones of the clothing are already matched. It pays to glue the figure onto a temporary holder, so that it can be turned without touching the painted surfaces. The particular procedure for preparing and joining the parts is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
For builders of dioramas and for modelers who want to bring a scene to life with a crew figure by a finished vehicle. Have paints and glue ready separately, unless stated otherwise.
