An unobtrusive accessory that can give a diorama credibility. In this set Royal Model deals with the period bicycle, that is with a means of transport whose fine tubes, wires and carriers are cast in plastic only with difficulty. The basic model is bought separately. The set is intended for the Tamiya kit.
While tanks attract the attention, an enormous part of the movement behind the front rested on human legs and pedals. The bicycle was used in the German army from the first to the last day of the war: it carried runners between posts and served the field gendarmerie, supply detachments and whole bicycle reconnaissance companies. The military version had a reinforced frame, a carrier over the rear wheel and mounts for bags or a rifle. In the final months of the conflict bicycles also reached units assembled in haste, because fuel could no longer be relied on. That is exactly why it suits scenes from the whole period, not only from the late phase.
Keep the frame and the wheels as thin as possible; excess glue shows at once. You will manage the painting with a brush, because the area is small; bring the matte black shade of the frame to life with a light brightening of the edges. Leave the tires dark gray, as pure black looks flat. Finally weather the bicycle with dust, so that it fits into the surrounding terrain.
The delivery includes the add-on set only; paints and glue are not in it.
