A tanker differs from an infantryman in how you will see him on a model as well. While an infantryman stands fully on the ground, a man of a crew tends to be visible from the waist up, leaning on the edge of a hatch or seated on the hull. His kit matches that: fewer things carried, a different cut and a helmet or cap that does not get in the way inside the machine. An empty hatch looks like a hole on a finished model, whereas one figure in it settles the whole vehicle at once.

Where exactly the figure belongs can be seen from its modeled attitude: standing beside a vehicle, sitting on the hull and a position in a hatch each make different demands on placement.
Cut away surplus material with a sharp blade a short distance from the part and sand it; take the traces of manufacture off with a blade held flat. Before you glue anything, try the figure dry in the place you want to seat it; hatches differ between kits and the upper half of the body is easier to adjust before painting than after it. After washing and degreasing, apply a base color. Build the face up in layers from a darker undercoat to lighter ones; bring the uniform to life with a wash into the folds and a fine dry brush. Choose the shades according to the documentation for the vehicle you will display the figure with, and use a matte varnish at the end.
For modelers who build armored vehicles in 1:35 scale and do not want to leave them without a crew. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
