The small set 1:35 Handles contains grab handles and brackets with which the excessively thick plastic features on armored vehicles in 1:35 scale are replaced.

This universal item from the Italian maker Royal Model is not tied to one particular type of vehicle. It offers the small brackets, grab handles and loops that appear on armored vehicles by the dozen: on the hatches, the boxes, the fenders and the rear of the hull.
A real grab handle is bent from thin rod that in 1:35 scale comes out at a fraction of a millimeter. Injected plastic cannot hold such a dimension, so kits thicken the handles and on a finished model they then come across like the handles of a suitcase. Replacing them with metal features is one of the simplest modifications that are visible at first glance, and it works across all armies and periods alike. It shows especially on vehicles with a smooth hull, where there is nothing else to catch the eye.
It is a good idea to drill small depressions into the place of attachment with a micro drill, so that the bracket does not hold on contact alone and does not break out during handling. Cut the original plastic molding off and level the surface, or the new feature will stand off. When painting, it is enough to accentuate the handles lightly: they stand out most where the crew touched them and the paint was rubbed off.
You get the parts in a raw state. Supply the chemicals and the model they are to go on from your own stock, unless stated otherwise.
