A figure of an Italian tanker from the M40 75/18 self-propelled gun in 1:35 scale. Intended to be assembled and painted, to be set on a model or in a diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Semovente M40 da 75/18 was an Italian self-propelled gun built on the chassis of a medium tank. It carried a 75 mm gun with a barrel length of 18 calibers, that is a short weapon with a low muzzle velocity that was suited above all to supporting infantry. The low, flat casemate without a turret let the crew fire from cover, and the machine was among the better things the Italian units had in the Second World War.
The set brings a figure of a crew member in 1:35 scale, that is in the scale usual for models of ground hardware. A figure set in place gives a model scale and a story: without one, even a nicely built machine looks lifeless.
Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest down gently, with particular care around the face and the hands. Wash and degrease the parts before painting and choose the glue according to the material: whatever is not polystyrene holds with cyanoacrylate glue. Paint in layers from the primer to the lightest places, leave the shadows in the folds of the cloth and finish the face last of all. A matte varnish will bring the finished figure together.
The figure is for modelers of hardware who want to bring a finished machine to life with a crew, and for builders of dioramas from the battlefields of the Second World War. The box holds the figure only; the model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
