The second part of the photo-etched set for the M1025 vehicle in 1:35 scale. It follows on from the part marked Part 1, which is a separate item. Both parts are listed for the Tamiya kit, so the dimensions of the parts are based on that kit.
The M1025 is the armed version of the HMMWV vehicle, with a weapon station in the circular opening of the roof. The body is made up of large flat surfaces that are hard to hide on a model. It is precisely on those that the difference between molded plastic and a genuinely thin metal part can be seen.
It is aimed at the builder who wants to take the vehicle beyond the level of the box contents and is not put off by work with tweezers. Photo-etch does not fit itself, so count in advance on having to sand some plastic elements away so that the metal part has somewhere to seat.
Leave the fret whole and release the parts from it only at the moment you need them, otherwise the small pieces get lost. Cut with a sharp blade on glass or a hard surface, and level the edges left by the tabs with a fine file. Make the bends in a bending tool, and on long parts in one stroke so that the sheet does not ripple. Before painting, wash the metal, degrease it and apply a primer for metal.
The package contains photo-etched parts. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
