A group of resin figures capturing the crew of a German self-propelled rocket launcher in the setting of the Eastern Front. The set is made by the Italian firm Royal Model and it is laid out as an accessory to a model of the vehicle, not as a complete item in itself.
Panzerwerfer denotes a German 15 cm rocket launcher mounted on a half-tracked chassis with an armored cab. A salvo from its tubes covered an area, not a point: the point was to bury the target in a short time and drive off at once, because the smoke trails of the launching rockets gave the position away immediately. The crew therefore worked in haste: loading from outside, move, fire again. Subjects of rocket-launcher batteries in the east are rewarding in modeling precisely because of that tension between the calm of preparation and the rush after the shot.
Before you glue anything, try the figures dry exactly where they are meant to stand; with resin, the angle of the legs adjusts more readily than the shape of a hull. Fill the gaps between the torso and the arm with putty and smooth it with a brush dampened in thinner. Transitional and winter clothing carries a lot of folds, so build thin glazes up gradually and let the shadow do the work.
The set contains figures to be glued and painted. Do not look in it for the rocket launcher or for modeling chemicals.
