With this set from the Italian brand Royal Model, the Sd.Kfz. 251 half-track armored personnel carrier in the Ausf. C version gets the areas that a production injection mold cannot reproduce. It is intended for detailing a 1:35 scale kit you already have. The set is intended for the Tamiya kit.
The Sd.Kfz. 251 was created as an armored personnel carrier for infantry and became the most widespread German half-track vehicle of the war. You can recognize the Ausf. C version by the one-piece sloped front armor plate ahead of the engine and by the side stowage bins for tools set above the tracks. The vehicle carried a squad of infantrymen, had an open fighting compartment and served as the basis for dozens of specialized conversions: engineer, ambulance, signals and gun-armed. The following Ausf. D already had a simplified faceted rear, because the point was to build it faster and with less effort.
An open hull means that everyone looks inside, so finish and paint the benches, the weapon mounts and the stowage boxes before you close up the upper part. Degrease the small pieces before gluing, try them dry and fix them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Grade the weathering to suit the scene: a low-slung vehicle picks up mud along the whole length of its sides, while dust settles rather on the horizontal surfaces and in the corners of the superstructure.
