1:35 Stowage StuG/D (dragon)

The real subject

The crews of German assault guns carried most of their property outside, on the vehicle. Crates, tarpaulins, jerrycans, spare track links and personal baggage piled up on the engine compartment, on the fenders and on the sides of the superstructure. It is exactly this clutter that separates a model which looks like a museum exhibit from a vehicle that looks as if it had come back from the field a moment ago.

What the set contains

Stowage and equipment accessories in 1:35 scale intended for a model of the StuG assault gun from Dragon. Which particular pieces the package contains and where they belong is in the manufacturer's documentation; the layout, though, is a matter of taste and nothing stops you from putting together a composition of your own.

Building and painting tips

Cut away surplus material with a sharp blade a short distance from the part and sand the remainder. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold on them well. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; cyanoacrylate will serve universally. Try the layout dry and only then glue: the stowage should look as if somebody had thrown it on in a hurry, not as if somebody had lined it up with a ruler. Set it apart in color from the vehicle; tarpaulins and wood will take warmer tones and a pronounced wash. Where you find wood or textile on the parts, bring the edges out with a dry brush.

Who it is for

For modelers who build German tracked vehicles or a diorama in 1:35 scale and want to make a vehicle look lived in. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
