Responsibility details are not available.
The Italian brand Royal Model casts this civilian figure in resin and captures a woman ready to snorkel, her body stretched out and her head bent toward the surface. It belongs in a collection wherever a scene is to aim at a civilian, holiday subject.
Display cases tend to be filled with vehicles and uniforms, yet a coastal scene, a harbor, a lake or a swimming pool at an abandoned villa needs somebody entirely different. A civilian figure beside military vehicles creates the tension on which most good dioramas live: ordinary life carrying on a short way from places where quite other things are happening. Lighter subjects also make it possible to work with a water surface, the making of which from resin is among the most rewarding modeling disciplines.
The largest part of the surface is bare skin, and that is at the same time the most demanding. Work in thin glazes from the base tone toward the shadows in the bends of the body and toward a slight lightening on the shoulders and the calves; a single coat always looks unnatural. Leave the snorkel and the goggles glossy, so that they stand apart from the matte skin.
The figure is supplied as a casting without paint; the package contains neither an undercoat nor any chemicals.
