A plastic model of the British battlecruiser HMS Renown in 1:350 scale, in a version referring to the year 1942.
Responsibility details are not available.
HMS Renown was one of the battlecruisers of the Royal Navy. A battlecruiser was a type of ship that carried heavy gun armament and, against battleships, staked everything on higher speed, which it paid for with weaker armor. Renown went through extensive rebuilds during her service, so her superstructures, her light anti-aircraft armament and her overall appearance differ markedly from one period to another.
The year 1942 marks which state of the ship the version of the set refers to. With ship models this matters, because the same ship differs from year to year in radar fit, in the number of barrels and in its finish. What extent of equipment the package covers and which versions the decals offer is given in the instructions of the manufacturer.
The model in 1:350 scale comes as a set of parts to be assembled and painted. The procedure that has proved itself is as follows:
The set suits a builder who already has a ship model behind him and wants a large surface subject with room for detailing. Paints, glue, filler and decorative accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
