Open exhaust nozzle of the F-16 Fighting Falcon engine (F100-PW-220) in 1:48 scale from ReSkit. A 3D-printed resin detail set.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a detail set, not a standalone model. The 3D-printed resin open exhaust nozzle from ReSkit replaces the corresponding part in the base kit of the F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter in 1:48 scale. The nozzle is rendered in the open position, as it looks on a machine with the engine shut down.
The General Dynamics (Lockheed Martin) F-16 Fighting Falcon is a single-engine multirole fighter. The version with the Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-220 engine has a distinctive exhaust nozzle shape that differs from the versions with General Electric engines. A faithfully rendered nozzle with inner petals and traces of heat stress is one of those details the knowledgeable spot on a model first.
Wash the print resin residue off the part, cut it from the print supports and sand it with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Bring out the inside of the nozzle with a dark wash and metallic (burnt) shades; the outer shell can be given subtle gradations according to how the machine was used.
This is an add-on set for more advanced modelers. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
