This set is a detail accessory, not an airplane model. It reproduces the open exhaust nozzle of the Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-229 engine of the F-16 fighter in 1:48 scale. The parts are cast in resin with fine detail of the nozzle petals and of the inner combustion chamber and are rendered in the fully open position, as it is on a machine on the ground or at full thrust with afterburner.
The F100-PW-229 is the more powerful variant of the Pratt & Whitney powerplant used by the later versions of the F-16. The open nozzle with its pronounced petals is one of the most striking details of the rear of the aircraft.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut the casting blocks away and glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); sand with respiratory protection. Lay down a primer and paint with an airbrush for faithful metallic shades and heat tints.
An accessory for more advanced modelers. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
