F-4E/2020 Terminator — 3D-printed color interior 1:48 (Quinta Studio)

Note: this is NOT an airplane kit. It is a detail accessory from Quinta Studio that builds nothing on its own. It is intended for the F-4E/2020 Terminator kit in 1:48 scale from Meng — so buy it for that kit, otherwise it has no use. The so-called 3D decals are printed, color relief elements on a decal carrier: they have real thickness and a raised relief (protruding instrument bezels, recessed dials, switches, levers, grab handles). They are applied directly onto the plastic parts of the kit and are applied like ordinary decals — cut out, dip, transfer. The result is a finished color interior without painting, with crisp instruments that would be very hard to imitate with a brush.

Use and tips

• The set is tied to a particular kit — it fits the plastic parts of the Meng F-4E/2020 Terminator 1:48.
• Before applying, it is advisable to sand the original raised relief (the instruments, the switches) off the plastic, so that the 3D part sits on a flat surface.
• It is applied like a decal: cut the element you want out, dip it, slide it onto the plastic part, press it down gently and let it dry. Do not use a decal softener or a setting solution — they would attack the printed resin of the element.
• Ideally paint the surface underneath in a dark color — any gaps are then not visible.
• Be careful when bending. The material can be adapted to the shape to a certain extent, but it is not infinitely flexible — on sharp bends (typically on the belts) users report cracking of the color layer. Do not force the elements into shape; work slowly and without tension.
• The accessory can be combined with an ordinary build of the model; glue, paints and the kit itself are not included in the package.
