The item on offer represents a separate weapon for a model of an aircraft, not a kit of the machine. The designation F200-450 refers to the Italian aircraft torpedo of the kind that the bombers of the Regia Aeronautica carried during the Second World War. According to the name the set is conceived universally, that is without a tie to one particular kit.
Attacks by torpedo aircraft were among the most effective instruments Italy had in the Mediterranean area. The crews of three-engine machines guided the torpedo from a very low altitude and from close range, which called for steady nerves and an exact judgment of the moment of release. Service against convoys heading for Malta in 1941 and 1942 brought the island's defenders their heaviest losses, and the torpedo crews earned a reputation as an elite part of the Italian Air Force. The torpedo was usually slung asymmetrically under the fuselage, so that it would not collide with the power unit in the nose.
Practice rounds carried conspicuous light stripes; combat ones, by contrast, restrained shades with a more marked contrast of the head. It pays to polish the surface smooth, because every unevenness shows on a long cylindrical body; at the end a light wash around the seams and the stabilizing surfaces helps.
The delivery does not include a model of the aircraft or paints.
