A pilot figure in the kit of the Greek Air Force, the standing type 2 position, intended for models of the A-7 Corsair II in 1:48.
Responsibility details are not available.
A standing male figure, which the name assigns to the Greek operator of the attack aircraft. The type 2 designation sets the position apart from the other stance offered. The figure is an accessory to a finished model and does not itself stand in for the aircraft.
The Greek Air Force was among the most significant foreign operators of the type. It took over its first machines in a version of its own in the mid-1970s and later supplemented them with aircraft bought out of American stocks. Service lasted remarkably long: Greek aircraft were still flying in 2014, at a time when more modern types had long since replaced them elsewhere. Greece thus became the last country to operate the Corsair II in service.
Viewers recognize the nationality of a figure mainly from the equipment and the color balance of the coveralls, so before painting it pays to look at period photographs. Choose the shades faded rather than raw, because equipment in service quickly loses saturation. Suggest the patches only by shape and main color; drawing emblem by emblem makes no sense in this scale. Finish the helmet separately and put it on only once the face has dried.
The paints needed for finishing are not part of the purchase.
