Flyhawk 1:700 photo-etched parts for the light cruiser Königsberg 1940 is an accessory set for a ship model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for modelers of ships in 1:700 scale from the brand Flyhawk. The package contains a fret of photo-etched metal parts with which you replace the coarser plastic components of a model of the German light cruiser Königsberg in her 1940 state. The set is cut for the kit from the same manufacturer, which has to be bought separately. Photo-etched parts are taken out of the fret, shaped and glued onto the model, so this is work for a more experienced modeler. The reward is fine detail on the railings, walkways and ladders of a kind a plastic part never has.
Königsberg was the first of three German light cruisers of interwar construction. A peculiarity of the design was the asymmetrical arrangement of the after gun turrets, which were offset to the sides so that they did not block each other's field of fire. The ship was sunk in April 1940 at Bergen during the occupation of Norway, where she was hit by British Skua dive bombers flying from a land base, and she thus became one of the first large warships sunk by air attack.
The set is intended for experienced modelers. The ship kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
