Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German pocket battleship (Panzerschiff) Admiral Graf Spee as she appeared in 1939, in 1:700 scale from Trumpeter. The split hull allows building with a full hull as well as waterline; a shipboard Arado floatplane and a base are also included in the box. Check the exact contents and the number of parts against the manufacturer's part number for this item. In 1:700 scale it is a smaller model with fine parts.
The Admiral Graf Spee was one of the three German pocket battleships of the Deutschland class, built in the 1930s within the limits of the Versailles restrictions. She combined heavy 28 cm guns with diesel propulsion and a long range, which suited her to fighting merchant convoys. In December 1939 she fought the Battle of the River Plate at its mouth and shortly afterwards she was scuttled by her own crew off Montevideo.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue them with liquid cement for plastic; the small parts in 1:700 call for care and are well complemented by fine photo-etched railings (if they are not included, they can be bought separately). Decide in advance between the full hull and waterline. Apply a primer before painting, spray with an airbrush and bring out the lines with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
