The casting U.S. Infantry at rest with rifle No.2 - WWII in 1:35 scale brings the second pose of a resting American soldier.
Responsibility details are not available.
This casting closes the pair that Royal Model devoted to an American infantryman in a moment of calm. The figure has its weight distributed differently from the variant numbered one, so both figures can be set close together without the scene looking mirrored. The material is polyurethane resin.
The armament of an American rifleman of the Second World War comprised the Garand rifle, a belt with ammunition pouches, a canteen and an entrenching tool. On the march and at a halt alike, a soldier carried a large part of his equipment on himself, because the supply columns often lagged behind the forward skirmish lines. A scene of rest therefore tends to be full of small items laid on the ground, which offers a modeler a rewarding space for their own storytelling.
It works well to unify the surface first with a thin primer in a light gray tone, on which any remaining marks from the casting system show up. Fabrics are painted from a dark base toward light edges, and the metal parts are fine-tuned at the end. It is a good idea to soften the transitions between the skin and the collar with a glaze, so that no sharp line appears.
The casting is sold unpainted, without glue and paints.
