HäT 1:72 Carthaginian command and cavalry is a set of thirty-six figures, twelve of them mounted, with separate shields and weapons.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale from HäT. The box holds thirty-six figures in seven poses: twenty-four on foot and twelve riders in three poses, with horses in two poses and seventy-two separate accessories. Four of the riders carry a standard and a shield; on the others the weapons and shields are separate, so you put the formation together as you like. The plastic is unpainted.
Carthaginian command rested on the families that financed the campaigns and on commanders raised in war, of whom Hannibal was one. Cavalry made up a strong element of the Carthaginian army, and at Cannae it was the cavalry that closed the encirclement after crushing the Roman mounted wings. Standards and trumpets filled much the same role as with the Romans, that is they held a formation together in the noise of battle.
Wash the figures, dry them and spray them with a flexible primer. Sort the separate accessories out in advance; there are many of them in this set and they are easily lost. Paint the shields on the sprue and glue them on at the very end. Keep the standards and pennons deeply colored, as they will be the focus of the formation. Seat the riders in the saddle once the horse is painted.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
