Injection-molded kit of the Dewoitine D.520 in 1:72 scale from RS Models in Free French markings — the best French fighter of 1940.
Responsibility details are not available.
A short-run plastic kit of the French Dewoitine D.520 fighter in 1:72 scale from the Czech brand RS Models. This boxing focuses on Free French markings. The box contains gray injection-molded parts, clear cockpit parts and a decal sheet with the matching schemes.
The Dewoitine D.520 was a single-seat all-metal low-wing monoplane and the highest-performing French fighter committed to the Battle of France in 1940. It was powered by the Hispano-Suiza 12Y engine and reached a speed of around 520 km/h. It was agile and well armed, although it reached the fighting late and in small numbers. After the fall of France D.520s flew under various flags; machines in Free French markings took part in the fighting on the Allied side and are a popular subject for collectors.
On a short-run kit, fit the parts dry, clean up the sprue gates and fill the seams. Apply a primer before painting. For the French three-color camouflage an airbrush with soft transitions works well; apply the characteristic Free French markings (the Cross of Lorraine) carefully from the decals over a gloss clear coat, so that the decals do not silver.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
