A 1:72 scale set with ground engineering personnel, a Firestreak missile and a transport trolley, for Lightning, Sea Vixen and Gloster Javelin models.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Firestreak is a British guided air-to-air missile that found its target by its heat emission. It entered service in the late 1950s and in the Royal Air Force and the Fleet Air Arm it was carried by the Lightning, the Sea Vixen and the Gloster Javelin. The missiles were brought to the aircraft on low trolleys that could be pushed right up to the pylon, and preparation for loading was a common sight on the apron.
The set combines figures of engineering personnel with a Firestreak missile and a transport trolley. The package is listed as one piece and its contents are described in the manufacturer's instructions.
Small parts in this scale take only a light hand: cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder with fine sandpaper. Wash everything in lukewarm soapy water before painting and let it dry. Use cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) in tiny drops to join the parts. Paint the figures over a primer and suggest the folds of the clothing with a dark wash; a smooth, even shade is enough on the missile, since detail does more harm than good at this scale.
The set is for modelers of British postwar fighters in small scale. Figures next to the aircraft show its size clearly and turn a model on a display base into a scene.
The aircraft model, the paints and the glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
