This is an accessory set, not an aircraft model. It replaces the engine exhaust nozzle with a part that has open petals, that is, in the position the nozzle moves to once the engine is shut down on a parked aircraft. On the F-16 the nozzle is very conspicuous because of the slender fuselage and at the same time it serves as an identifying feature: its shape and the arrangement of its petals tell which powerplant the aircraft carried. This set is intended for the version designated F100-PW-229, that is, for the more powerful variant of the same family that later aircraft were given.
The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a single-engine multirole combat aircraft. Powerplants from two different manufacturers were used on it during production, and within one family the individual variants differed as well. The differences are visible from outside at the rear, in the shape of the rear fuselage and in the arrangement of the nozzle petals.
The set is for modelers of modern combat aircraft who want the right nozzle for a particular version of the machine. The work is not difficult, but it is preceded by a decision that cannot be made by eye.
It is not an aircraft model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
