HäT 8013 Horse Grenadiers is a 1:72 mounted set with the elite heavy cavalry of the French Imperial Guard.
Responsibility details are not available.
A mounted set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale with figures of the Horse Grenadiers, that is, the heavy cavalry of the French Imperial Guard. It is supplied unpainted and unassembled, with the rider seated separately. The manufacturer does not state the number of pieces, so check it on the packaging.
The Horse Grenadiers of the Guard were among the most senior mounted formations in the whole French army. They wore tall bearskin caps and dark blue coats and rode large black horses, which made them an unmissable and deliberately intimidating force on the battlefield. They were committed sparingly, usually only at the decisive moment, and that is exactly why they were called the last reserve. Serving with them meant prestige, and who got there matched it: as a rule, seasoned soldiers with a string of campaigns behind them.
Paint the horses before you seat the riders. Do the bearskin in a very dark gray rather than black and lighten the edges with a dry brush, so that the fur shows. Build the dark blue coat up in layers over a gray base. A black horse needs the same approach as the bearskin: a base in very dark gray and lightened edges on the muscles, otherwise it will be nothing but a silhouette.
The figures are supplied unpainted and unassembled. Paints, glue and bases are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
