This is an injection-molded plastic kit of the three-engine transport aircraft Junkers Ju 52/3M in 1:72 scale from Heller. The package includes plastic sprues with parts, clear glazing parts, a decal sheet, and assembly instructions. The specific marking options depend on the particular package edition.
The Junkers Ju 52/3M is one of the most famous transport aircraft of its era and became known by the nickname Tante Ju (Auntie Ju). It is distinguished by its corrugated duralumin skin, which gave the aircraft strength and an unmistakable look. It was powered by three radial engines — one in the nose and two in wing nacelles. The aircraft served in civilian air transport as well as a military transport and paratroop aircraft, and it became one of the symbols of air transport in the 1930s and 1940s.
Mask the cockpit and window glazing before spraying so the areas stay clean. Work carefully when cleaning up the fuselage seams, so you do not sand away the fine corrugated-skin relief that is typical of this aircraft. Apply paint with an airbrush in layers; you can subtly shade the panels and finally bring out the corrugated texture with a light wash. We recommend thin liquid plastic cement, a primer, and a matte final varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
