HäT 8014 Light Dragoons of the King's German Legion is a 1:72 mounted set from the Napoleonic wars.
Responsibility details are not available.
This mounted set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale captures the Light Dragoons of the King's German Legion, the Hanoverian corps in British service. It is supplied unpainted and unassembled, with the rider seated separately. The manufacturer does not state the number of pieces, so check it on the packaging.
The King's German Legion grew out of Hanoverian soldiers who, after the French occupation of their electorate, went to Britain and carried on the fight. It served throughout the Napoleonic wars and was among the most highly regarded formations of Wellington's army; its cavalry had a reputation as a reliable and well-trained force. The Light Dragoons performed the tasks where mobility decided matters: reconnaissance, screening, pursuit. At Waterloo the infantry of the Legion held the farm of La Haye Sainte, and its defense is among the best-known episodes of the whole battle.
Paint the horses before you seat the riders. The uniform of the Light Dragoons has pronounced braiding across the chest, which is done with a fine brush onto the finished coat; take your time and leave a gap between the cords, otherwise they merge. Do not mix the horses into a single color. Unify the bases with a single tone; that bonds the mounted group into one whole.
The figures are supplied unpainted and unassembled. Paints, glue and bases are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
