A 3D-printed modeling accessory from the Czech brand Firma49 in 1:72 scale. It is not a vehicle model but a replacement part, the folded windshield of the Kubelwagen covered with a tarpaulin, with which you replace the original glazed screen on your model. It is supplied as a small printed part to glue on and paint.
The Kubelwagen (VW Type 82) was a German light cross-country car of the Second World War, an equivalent in purpose to the American Jeep. Crews at the front often folded the windshield down onto the hood and covered it with a tarpaulin, which cut the reflections that could give their position away and at the same time protected the glass from damage. This accessory captures a screen covered in just that way and gives a model or a diorama an authentic front-line look. In the small 1:72 scale it also delivers detail that is hard to carve from plastic.
The part is very small in this scale: separate it from the print supports carefully with a sharp knife, clean it up and wash it if needed. Bond it with super glue (cyanoacrylate) in small drops. Work calmly, ideally with tweezers, and sand with respiratory protection. Apply a primer before painting; bring the tarpaulin out gently with a wash and a dry brush.
Firma49 also makes the covered windshield in other scales (1:48 and 1:35, for instance), so choose the variant matching the scale of your Kubelwagen.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without the vehicle model. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
