A plastic kit of the Gloster Meteor T Mk.7.5 in 1:72 scale — the two-seat trainer version of the famous British jet fighter with a lengthened fuselage and tail surfaces derived from the F.8 version.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the two-seat Meteor trainer in 1:72 scale. The model captures the later form of the Meteor trainer known as the T.7 and a half, which combined the two-seat fuselage of the T.7 version with modified tail surfaces taken from the single-seat F.8. The model is to be assembled and painted, and the two-seat fuselage is noticeably longer than that of the single-seat versions.
The Meteor T.7 came about as a two-seat trainer version derived from the Meteor F.4 fighter. The prototype first took to the air in 1948 and the machine became one of the most widespread jet trainers of the 1950s and 1960s. It served with the Royal Air Force and with a number of foreign Meteor users. Later examples received tail surfaces like those of the F.8 version, which improved their longitudinal stability; these forms are usually designated T.7 and a half. Power came from two Rolls-Royce Derwent jet engines.
Glue the parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic. The glazing of the two-seat canopy is a dominant feature, so masking and careful clean-up of the framing pay off. Apply a primer before painting; for the smooth metal or colored surfaces of Meteor trainers an airbrush is ideal. Trainers often carried prominent signal orange or yellow bands, which benefit from quality decals and a gloss clear coat beneath them.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
