This is a resin set of replacement engine cowlings for models of the Lockheed PV-1 Ventura patrol and bomber aircraft in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit of an aircraft but a detail accessory that replaces the production plastic cowlings with more accurate castings, including open cooling flaps.
The replacement cowlings are glued in place of the original plastic parts and bring a more realistic shape and breakdown of the engine nacelles. Small parts of the intakes tend to be included as well. The result is a more faithful front section of the nacelles, which on the twin-engine Ventura markedly influences the overall impression.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut the casting blocks off carefully and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The cowlings are conceived as a replacement for the plastic parts, so count on adapting the cut. Wear respiratory protection while sanding and apply a base (primer) before painting.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
