An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Republic P-47D Thunderbolt fighter in 1:72 scale from Hasegawa. The model captures the massive and rugged shape of one of the largest single-engine fighters of the Second World War.
The P-47 Thunderbolt was one of the heaviest and toughest fighters of its day. It was powered by the capable air-cooled Pratt and Whitney R-2800 radial engine with a turbocharger, thanks to which it excelled at high altitude and in the dive. The P-47D version was built in the largest numbers and was used both to escort bombers and, above all, to attack ground targets, where the heavy armament and the toughness of the airframe made the Thunderbolt a feared machine.
Work with liquid cement for plastic and finish the cockpit before you close up the fuselage. Apply a primer before painting and lay the paints down with an airbrush. On machines in natural metal, metallic shades and a restrained differentiation of the panels look best. Apply the decals over a gloss base and complete the weathering with dark washes and fine dust on the lower surfaces and around the exhausts.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
